Choose This Year Who You Want To Be? New Year Resolutioner Vs. Lifestyle Changer

Updated: Mar 31

We are now ending out the first quarter of 2024 and how are you coming along with your fitness goals?  It is quite popular across the world for people to promise themselves at the start of the new year to improve their lives.  So often we will find that the gym memberships will increase, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and Nutri System will see a spike in sales.  However, we start off strong with a lot of motivation and determination but after a few months we give up on our fitness journey.

If this is you, I am not here to condemn you, put a spotlight on your life or shame you but to empower you to push pass

being a New Year’s Resolutioner and become a Lifestyle Changer.  I started something new this year which was to take inventory of my life to understand why I was failing at not achieving my goals—and here is what I learned.

1.    Impractical Expectations – I needed to set realistic goals that I could achieve on a monthly basis.

2.    Crash Diets Do Not Work – constantly restricting myself was not healthy I love food. I had to change my relationship with food and stop emotional eating.

3.    Get Support – I had to gain a support system from family, friends and a trainer that are willing to help me achieve my objectives and hold me accountable.

I admonish you to set measurable goals whether it is to lose 10 pounds a month or 2 inches in 2 weeks. Make realistic and healthy diet changes that are sustainable and suitable to your well-being. Lastly, obtain a support system a personal trainer, work buddy, family member or group that will hold you liable to your objective.

Whether your aspiration is weight loss, strength and conditioning, increase your energy, build your stamina or preparing for a marathon stay patient and persistent with yourself on this 2024 year!
